Last
evening I visited the showroom to map out the plan. In just 31 days, the doors will
be open. I cannot even believe that this is happening. I kept telling my
parents to pinch me. I graduated from Moore College of Art & Design in 2007
with a BFA in Fashion Design. If you would’ve told me almost 9 yrs ago that
I would one day open my own showroom, I would’ve laughed and probably punched
you. I went to school to become a designer, a designer for a company based in
NYC. That was the dream, the plan the motive… I graduated, moved back to
Central PA with my parents and was on the job search. I quickly learned that
the Big Apple wasn’t for me. I enjoyed my time at school in Center City Philly…
that was big enough for me. I suppose I became an introvert, or maybe it was
countless rejection from numerous job interviews. I would take the Amtrak train
from Harrisburg to NY, interview with a company and go back home. When
interviewers realized I lived in Central PA, it was like an immediate NO. So I
continued to build my portfolio with personal work of collections, worked
full-time as a retail manager, even worked a summer at my alma matter traveling
back and forth, would hold fashion shows in NYC, go for interviews and even
tried out for a few fashion reality shows…
After my
2013 Collection I decided to take a break. I wasn’t ready to quit… so I took
some time to focused on my life. At the beginning of 2015 I had a clear head
and was ready to Rock N’Roll.
Fast
Forward to Today 2016 … Here I am keys in hand, opening the door, the new
chapter of my life. I can’t believe this is happening. I am overwhelmed with
love and support for my family and friends. Especially my parents and hubby.
Without you guys… none of this would be possible.
Are you ready for what’s to come? Bring it 2016.
